He is Senior Brand Manager in Haugen-Gruppen AS, the largest food importing company in Norway with focus on import, sales and marketing of international well-known brands.
He has been working in food business for more than 25 years in companies like Nestlé, Mars and Haugen-Gruppen AS.

His fascination for olive oil started when he joined Haugen-Gruppen in 2000 when he started as Key Account Manager, selling olive oil to the major retail chains in Norway.

He worked 15 years as brand manager in retail and the last 2 years as brand manager in Food Service.

He did the technical course for aspiring olive oil tasters in 2015 and started straight away his education for ONAOO Professional Taster in 2016. In 2018 he got the Certificate as Professional Taster.

He attended the 3rd International meeting for “ONAOO tasters” in 2017.

He has been to several olive oil picking and pressing in Spain, Italy and Greece during the last 12 years, to learn and understand the difference in the different “culture” in olive oil production (from small producers to large scale productions), and thereby get the understanding of the difference.

He is doing olive oil tasting classes with category managers from the major chains (both Food service and retail), store managers, journalists, own sales organization and private people as often as possible, trying to get the Norwegians to understand what actually extra virgin olive is.

In recent times, organizations that deal with olive oil tasting training have multiplied. It follows that more and more people graduate as tasters.

On one hand, ONAOO is pleased to have been the initiator of a phenomenon that interests because it creates an "olive culture" that is perceived as a necessity for market and consumers.
